Residential RO
Continuous Flow, With No Storage Tank!
Merlin Reverse Osmosis
GE Infrastructure Water and Process Technologies has achieved a revolutionary breakthrough in the water treatment industry. Out-of-the-box thinking and years of research have produced a totally new point-of-use drinking water system. The new Merlin RO System features continuous-flow water production, so a storage tank is no longer required.
The unit operates on line pressure, which eliminates the need for an electrical pump in most applications. The patented high-production, low-energy membrane purifies up to 720 gallons (2.73 m3) of water per day! This high-capacity performance creates new opportunities for commercial applications at the price of a residential system. Big innovation, bigger opportunities.
Merlin point-of-use Reverse Osmosis System Like no other system!
Benefits:
- Continuous flow no storage tank necessary
- Uses line pressure only (>40 psi/2.76 bar)
- 1/2 gpm permeate rate (1.89 lpm) @50 psi + 50° F
- Requires no pump, no electricity
- Compact design Fits easily under sink
- ANSI-NSF 58 validated (testing pending)
- Consistent TDS rejection and membrane efficiency
- Complete product literature and training support
- High recovery system
- Multiple dispensing locations off one system.
Does the unit come with a faucet?
Yes, it comes with a specially designed Air Gap faucet to accept the high flow rates through the Air Gap. It looks like a standard Chrome Touch-Flo faucet with a higher base.
What filters & membranes are used?
The unit uses 1 carbon block and 2 TFC membranes. These are custom sized and only available through Authorized Merlin Distributors.
How much total water will the Merlin consume compared to a typical RO system with a storage tank?
The Merlin RO System is designed to operate at 33% efficiency. This means that for every 2 gallons of product water used, a total of 6 gallons will be needed. A standard RO system with a storage tank runs at about 5% efficiency. This means that for every 2 gallons of product water used, a total of 13-25 gallons will be needed.
Can the Merlin RO System run continously?
The Merlin was designed to provide 0.5 gpm continous flow of product water over the course of a 24 hour period or longer. If more than 10 gallons of product water will be used on a daily basis, you must add additional Sediment Filtration/Chlorine Removal capacity.
What filters & membranes are used?
The unit utilizes 1 - 5 Micron Sediment Carbon Block Pre-filter, 2 - TFC High Production Membranes, and 1 - Granular Activated Carbon Post Filter. These are non-standard sized and only available through Authorized Merlin Distributors.
